Friday Favorites!

Hello and happy Friday everyone!  I’m kicking off this Friday with some of my favorite things.


1. Face masks

Let’s talk face masks, if I’m being honest it took me a long time to get into a routine of washing my face at night. I would leave my makeup on and wash it off in the morning, disgusting I know. Over the last few years, once I realized that this is the only face I’m going to get, I tried to get into a better skincare routine and I would say for the most part I’ve been pretty successful!  Anyway, long story short I am in love with Beautycounter’s Brightening and Plumping Face Masks. They are amazing!!! My skin feels so soft and smooth afterwards and they are helping to reduce the appearance of sun spots on my face (thank you teenage years and tanning booths).  I was feeling generous at the time of writing this post and decided to spare you all the pretty picture of me with a white face mask, you’re welcome. Feel free to thank me later.


2. Planning 1rst Birthdays

We are celebrating Camryn’s 1rst birthday with friends and family this weekend and I am so excited! We’re having a Little Pumpkin themed party and I love crafting up decorations (whether or not I’m actually good at it is debatable). I adore this sweet little girl and hope I never forget the way it felt to hold this precious little girl for the first time.


3.  White Pumpkin Pie M&Ms

Forgive me for introducing you to these delicious confections.  They are so yummy, I hesitated at first as we all know there is nothing about these little treats that is real Pumpkin Pie but I went for them anyway because…I have no willpower (I’m working on that though). Or, heed my warning and stay far away from them and you can thank me later for preventing you from devouring them. Your welcome. #takinonefortheteamimg_8035-1

4. Beautiful Fall Days

I work part-time as a physical therapist and I had to work this past Wednesday. The weather was gorgeous here in Minnesota and all I could think about was getting home to enjoy the beautiful day with my kids. When I got home we quickly gathered our things and headed to Afton Apple Orchard which is near where we live. The kids and I had so much fun! This orchard has a petting zoo, playground, apple picking (obvs), hayrides and more! Totally awesome! In case anyone’s wondering if I have a 4th child I’ve neglected before now, we brought one of Parker’s best buds along for the adventure! Hope he enjoyed the crazy!

Scrumptious Salads!

Hi guys,  welcome back to Finding My Mojo!

Before having kids, my husband and I loved to cook and bake new things. In fact, we had still have a huge binder filled with recipes taken out of magazines that we’d like to try (and maybe some day we will!).  Well times have changed and pinterest is the new recipe filled binder and the salad recipe I’m sharing today is a variation of one that I had found online and  really love.

Thai Peanut Chicken Salad (5 servings)



  •  1 1/2 cups rotisserie chicken (shredded)
  • 1/2 c cilantro (chopped)
  • 2 cucumbers (chopped)
  • 1 bunch green onions (chopped)
  • 1 lime
  • 1 c matchstick carrots
  • 1/2 c peanuts (chopped)
  • 1/2 bell pepper (I would use either a red or yellow pepper)
  • 1 c Thai peanut dressing (I used Leann Chin brand, but you could definitely use another that you like!)
  • 2 c coleslaw mix
  • 2 c broccoli slaw mix


  • Toss all of the vegetables and chicken together in a large mixing bowl. Toss with Thai Peanut Sauce and the juice of one lime until it is fully coated and then top with peanuts. Serve immediately.
  • FMM Tip!  I pre-make this salad on Sundays and take if for lunch during the week. In order to keep the lettuce and veggies crisp, I avoid adding the dressing and peanuts until I’m ready to eat!

What’s Up Wednesday!

When Shay posted yesterday that today is What’s Up Wednesday I had to double check my calendar…how is it possible we’re at the end of September already?!

My family and I are still rockin’ Take Back the Kitchen’s weekly menus. I can’t believe we’ve been doing this for 6 weeks, it’s been a total mealtime game changer.

We’re also eating Mix and Match Mama’s Apple Butterscotch Pecan bread, unfortunately there are no pictures because it was devoured in .0006 seconds by my kids and their friends after school yesterday!

2.  What I’m reminiscing about…

I can’t say that I’m reminiscing about anything right now…mama ain’t got time for that at the moment!

3. What I’m loving…

The change in the seasons! It was in the high 80’s here in Minnesota last weekend. Let me tell you, it was so hot watching Parker play flag football Saturday morning. I was begging for some cooler weather!  A couple of days into the week this week and we have some “normal” temps, around 65 degrees. I love the leaves changing, cozier nights at home and getting to watch Parker play football!

4.What we’ve been up to…

Now that school’s back in session, we’re pretty much back to a “normal” routine. On the days I’m home with the girls, Laney goes to gymnastics and dance in the mornings. Afterwards, we run errands for a little bit before we have lunch and I get Camryn down for nap.  Last year was Laney’s first year of dance and while she liked it, almost EVERY TIME we went she would say she wanted to go to gymnastics instead. She really loved being a part of the recital at the end of the dance season last year, so we signed her up again. We are also giving gymnastics a try this fall and she’s totally loving it! I love watching her, she is a ball of energy and such a free spirit! Parker has football a couple of nights a week and plays a game every Saturday morning. Mostly we’re hustling these kids around, trying to keep this house in order and working on the mudroom/office/laundry area remodel…there’s not too much time for anything else!  We did have family pictures last Sunday, fingers crossed they turn out!!

5.  What I’m dreading…

I’m totally dreading putting everything back into the office, laundry room and mudroom.  There is just SO. MUCH. STUFF!!  We’ve lived in our house nearly 10 years and during the course of that time I think we’ve been hanging onto a lot things we should’ve gotten ride of a long time ago.

img_8074I’ve been told that neither of my girls are going to care what the wedding trends were in 2006 when they get married. Maybe Parker will be interested?! Ha!

6. What I’m Excited About…

My sister is coming into town from San Francisco on Friday and I am SO EXCITED!!! She moved to San Francisco a little over a year ago and I LOVE when I get to see her. I’m try to drop subtle hints as much as possible that she needs to move back…she may tell you that my hints are not subtle. Don’t believe her.img_7231.jpg7. What I’m Watching/Reading…

I love to read but unfortunately I’m not reading much of anything these days. I’d like to know, how do others fit it into their schedules? I just feel like at the end of the day I have ZERO time to sit down and read. I did, however, finish the final season of Grey’s Anatomy. I usually turn on Grey’s when I sit down to do my patient documentation at night, multitasking at it’s finest. I thought the season was good overall but that last episodes left me wanting more! Why couldn’t they have wrapped everything up nicely and put a bow on it at the end instead of leaving things open ended?

8. What I’m Listening to…

I listen to Wedding Song Radio on Pandora a lot.  I find the music to be relaxing and sweet to listen to and sometimes the kids dance with each other to it. Now that’s enough to make my hear melt.

9. What I’m Wearing…

The weather has been so unpredicatable here, last weekend it was hot enough for shorts and now it’s definitely cooled off. I just got this dress from Nordstrom’s and I love it already. It’s super comfortable and versatile, easy to wear last weekend when the temps were HOT and I can throw a jacket over it now that it’s cooled off a bit.  It also comes in a TON of colors!  I also NEED these jeans from Evereve in my closest (like yesterday!), I’m loving the step hem!

10. What I’m Doing this Weekend…

This weekend we’re celebrating our sweet baby girl’s 1rst birthday.  I don’t know how this past year went by so quickly…but it did. We’re so excited to celebrate with friends and family! Stay tuned next week because I’ll be recapping her party!img_802711. What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month…

Over the kid’s MEA weekend we’re dropping our sweet angels off at their Grandpa and Grandma’s house and Jared and I are headed to Chicago for the weekend. We’re in desperate need of a getaway and I’m so happy we have this to look forward to!

Tuesday Talk…on Wednesday!

I was having a hard time thinking about what to talk about on Tuesday…so I waited until today to link up with Erika and Ashley for their “Tuesday Talk” link up where they invite others to join along and talk about whatever’s on their minds.Tuesday Talk

Last week, I wrote about Workin’ on My Fitness  where I shared about how I was just starting to begin a new fitness program.  I have to say, up until last week, I hadn’t worked out more than 4 days in a week in a VERY.LONG.TIME! I’m talking years here people. I was able to squeeze in a workout 5 out of the 7 days last week, which is a huge success for me.  The workouts I’m doing are just 30 minutes long and I’m able to do them at home, which makes it much more manageable than having to go somewhere. I am prioritizing my health and wellness, so that means instead of waiting to do my workout at the very end of the day (after everything else has been taken care of) I’m heading downstairs to workout as soon as the kids are in bed. No excuses!

I came across this quote this week and thinking back on it was definitely motivation to get my workouts in!


Last weekend I got off track and didn’t work out at all Saturday or Sunday. On Saturday night, one of my friend’s hosted her 5th Annual Bash for Brains Event to raise money for Alzheimer’s research. A fun night was had by all and a little too much wine was enjoyed, that my friends is why I did not workout Sunday.


Now that I’m recovered from Saturday night’s philanthropic events I’m back to the grind! I’ve decided to give myself a little incentive for working out at least 5 out of 7 days each week over the next month. These Nike shoes will be mine, aren’t they cute?!  img_8054Okay, that’s all I have to talk about this Tuesday. I need to go pack kids lunches:)

Friday Favorites!

Happy Friday Everyone!

Well, we survived another week! Things continue to be hectic over here as we continue to work on the mudroom/bathroom/laundry/office re-model. Everything that is normally stored in these rooms is just circulating around the house which makes me feel a tad bit unorganized. I cannot wait until it’s finished. #forthelove #notenoughhoursintheday

1. Being Mystery Reader at Parker’s School

Going to school this morning to read to Parker’s class as a Mystery Reader is definitely one of this week’s favorite things!  I really enjoyed starting my day with being Mystery Reader in Parker’s 1rst Grade classroom. I read the book “The Legend of Paper, Rock, Scissors” and it was a hit!  There was some usage of the word butt in the book that had me wondering if his teacher would ever ask me back. Haha!  #alwaysreadthebookfirst  I stayed for a little while longer and did some volunteer work for his teach. Sadly, I don’t have a picture of Parker and I, the teacher has one though!

2. Impromptu Lunch with Delaney

Today was filled with some of my most favorite things!!  After being at Parker’s school, I headed over to Delaney’s school to drop off a special birthday treat for her teacher.  The timing ended up being perfect, I was there at Delaney’s lunch time so I got to stay and enjoy lunch with her!  I love my sweet girl so much!img_7991

3.  Pumpkin Spice Lattes

The weather in Minnesota cannot decide if we’re heading towards fall or lingering in the summertime heat. It was in the 80s today but Pumpkin Spice Lattes are out in full force! They’re on the sugary side for me so I probably won’t be having too many of them but nothing says fall is coming like PSLs!


4.  My Mom!

My mom is always a favorite of mine, of course, but I was able to spend this special time with Parker and Laney this morning because she was taking care of Camryn back at home. I couldn’t be more grateful for a mom who is always here for the kids and I and willing to lend a helping hand!img_7999

5. My Erin Condren Planner

My sister gifted me my first Erin Condren planner last year as a pre-baby gift (is there such a thing?!). Apparently she thought I was going to need some extra help organizing my schedule once #3 came along. #shecouldnthavebeenmoreright  I LOVE this planner. It’s great that the covers are interchangeable throughout the seasons and there’s plenty of room to add detail to the monthly or weekly pages.  It’s about time for me to get a new planner for the next year. If anyone else has a planner that they adore, I’d love to hear about it!  Erin’s planners are kind of expensive and I’d love a less expensive option!

6.Toasted Marshmallow and Pumpkin Latte Lotion and Spray

I almost exclusively use all Beautycounter makeup and skin care products because  I love that all of their ingredients are safe and not harmful to my body or the environment. However, I have a particular weakness to these scents as they remind me of fall and smell so cozy (is it possible for something to smell) cozy! I just love  this scent during the fall!  Do you have any favorite products that smell like fall?

Workin’ on My Fitness


I searched for “fitness motivation” and this came into my feed, I had to laugh. I’m almost certain I won’t be turning into a “badass” anytime soon, but this made me chuckle. In an effort to “find my Mojo”, I’m going to start working hard at getting back into a regular fitness routine. I work professionally as a Doctor of Physical Therapy, so fitness is my jam and it’s what I preach all day long but at the end of the day I rarely make time to incorporate fitness into MY OWN life!  The days are so long sometimes when the baby is typically up around 6am and the day DOES. NOT. STOP! until well after 9pm.  A full night’s sleep is a luxury for me at this stage in my life but I wouldn’t trade those middle of the night snuggles for the world!

This is typically how I start my day! Poor Camryn doesn’t look like she loves how I’m holding her while I try to MAKE SURE everyone can see the words on my shirt!
That being said I HAVE to make fitness a larger priority in my life. Being active makes me happy, energizes me and I want to model the benefits and importance of physical activity for my kids.

Before kids, I LOVED going the gym and would often be there at 5:30am before heading off to work. My favorite form of exercise is spinning but I also enjoy yoga and Pilates. I’ve never tried Pilates on a reformer but I would LOVE to!

I’m writing this post today because today is the first day of a fitness challenge group that I joined. It’s 3 weeks long and there are only a few of us in the group. I’m hoping that being a part of a smaller group will help to hold me accountable and I love to support others on their journey! I’ll try to check back in once a week to let you know how big of a badass, or how lazy, I’ve been! Ha!

What’s Up Wednesday!




It’s Wednesday and I’m linking up with Sheaffer, Shay, and Mel for their What’s up Wednesday Link-Up. Typically WUW occurs on the last Wednesday of the month, however last month’s was postponed until today! This is my first WUW link-up…so here goes!


1.What We’re Eating This Week:

This is such a perfectly timed question for me! 3 weeks ago we started this new meal planning membership program called Take Back the Kitchen. A registered dietician comes up with a weekly menu, which is sent out to members on the Thursday before the menu is set to begin. The member’s group is on Facebook so people can engage with one another and ask questions or comment on how they’re doing. The goal is to do all of the grocery shopping and meal prep by Sunday so that when I press “GO” on Monday, we’re all set! This has truly been a lifesaver for my family. We typically eat pretty nutritious meals but as a busy family of 5, if I didn’t have a plan in place and at least some of the prep done, dinnertime was quickly becoming more about chaos than spending quality time together. Three weeks in and we’re still loving the program! 

2.  What I’m Reminiscing About:

I’m totally reminiscing about summer already! Today, I spent part of the afternoon going through Camryn’s closet clearing out summer clothes to make room for fall/winter clothing. Things are cooling off really quickly here in MN!  My kids are at an age that when things get packed away for a season, they are gone for good…as they continue to grow so much from one year to the next physically, socially, mentally. No summer will be the same as the last and I’m just cherishing the wonderful memories we made this past summer.


3. What I’m Loving:

I don’t know about anyone else, but I NEVER get to finish my coffee while it’s hot in the morning. I’m constantly having to reheat it and then after drinking only half of it, I have to pour it into another mug before I dash off to work.  Well, last weekend I’d had enough and I bought myself (and one of my besties, Amy) a YETI travel mug and let me tell you, my coffee was hot to the last drop. I may or may not have also tested it’s ability to keep a cocktail cold. #priorities #multitaskingmug

4. What We’ve Been Up To:

Like many of my friends, we’ve been in the process of getting our kids back to school and back into a routine over the last couple of weeks.  While I’m sad to have them be off to school, lord knows they need some structure back in their lives!

5. What I’m Dreading:

I mentioned in my  Weekend Recap! earlier this week that we are in the process of a major overhaul in our mudroom area right now. The house is a total disaster, as we have lost our office, laundry room, and main floor bathroom so everything is getting pushed into the kitchen and living room areas. Did I mention I have NO LAUNDRY ROOM and we’re a family of 5 with a BABY!  I am totally dreading all of the laundry that I have to catch up on. This is just 1 of the 4 humungous loads I have to wash! 6. What I’m Working On:


I feel like all 3 of these things are a constant work in progress for me (otherwise know as WIP), although I’d better always be doing something to make money. Mama’s gotta bring home the bacon.  I need to get a lot better about doing something to get in shape and I’m working on developing a creative outlet. For me, starting this blog is my outlet. 7. What I’m Excited About:

I’m getting SUPER EXCITED for this home project to be done and can’t wait to post the final product pics.  Don’t hold your breath though, I have a feeling it’ll be a few weeks!

8. What I’m Watching/Reading

To be honest, I have watched almost NO T.V. in the last month or two. I did, however, recently start watching the last season of Grey’s on Netflix. I love me some Grey’s and I’m so sad this is the final season!  I’m currently reading a book by Melanie Shankle called Sparkly Green Earrings, I’ll post my review later this month.

9. What I’m Wearing:

Right now?! Sweats. Ha! Like I said earlier, it’s really getting chilly here in MN. I purchase a couple of lighter jackets a few weeks ago that I think I’m going to break out soon. Looking forward to skinny jeans and cozy sweaters!

10. What I’m Doing This Weekend:

Is it Friday yet?!  On Friday night, the elementary school my oldest goes to is hosting an outdoor movie night. We went last year and the kids really enjoyed running around on the playground, eating popcorn and ice cream, and oh catching maybe a second or two of the movie!  It’s my weekend to work on my rotation as a physical therapist so that means Mr. Mojo will be manning the fort. Other than Friday night plans, no big plans for the weekend and that’s fine by me!

11. What We’re Looking Forward to Next Month:

We’re so excited to celebrate Camryn’s first birthday next month!  This past year has gone by in the blink of an eye. She is perfection and we couldn’t be more blessed to have this sweet, sweet girl. She is loved so much by her big sister and brother! We’re looking forward to having a lot of friends and family in town to celebrate with us!

Weekend Recap!

I don’t know about you but we tried to cram as much FUN! into this past weekend as we possibly could before summer is officially over and our oldest is back to school.  My husband, maybe I should refer to him as Mr. Mojo 🤣,  played hooky on Friday so we had a nice 4 day weekend.

Friday started with Mr. Mojo getting embarked on a home project that was set in motion by my desire to have some hooks to hang the kids backpacks that THEY could actually reach. Here’s a pic of before, during and….you’ll have to just wait in suspense for the finished product. Let’s just pray it’s not too long!

We took a break midday and headed to Como Town, which is in St. Paul. It was our version of a Fair day.  Typically, Mr. Mojo and I go to the fair with other couples and this year we just didn’t get it on the books. With 3 littles, we opted for a less chaotic option and  chose Como Town.   Como Town shares it’s home with Como Zoo and the Como Park Conservatory. I would say the rides are geared towards children 10 and under and there is an outdoor park for the kids to play in as well. Parker and Laney enjoyed the “race cars” and even got a driver’s license when they were all through.  Anyone who’s seen Laney drive her Jeep on the street, knows that she’s not the most attentive driver and I’m glad she has a long time to work on that!

Friday night I went out with my girlfriends to celebrate my friend Amy’s birthday and let me tell you we had SO! Much! Fun!!  We started with a quick champagne toast (Mumm Rose’ is delicious!!)  and then headed out to dinner at an amazing restaurant in Stillwater called Lolo’s. The wait can be long, especially on a Friday night in the summer, however as fate would have it we were able to be seated right away. The food at Lolo’s cannot be beat. I had the fish tacos and fries and we shared brussel sprouts and asparagus for appetizers. Yumm!  After dinner, we headed to a local dive bar where we proceeded to dance and sing the night away to the beats of one of our favorite local bands, Good for Gary. Let me tell you these suburban moms out on the town have some mad dancing skills!


We spent Saturday and Sunday with friends enjoying the beautiful weather and hanging out at the neighborhood pool.



I can’t believe Summer 2017 is coming to a close!  Summers always go by way too quickly but now that I have one that’s in school, it seems to have gone that much quicker. Even though things get crazy at times having all 3 kids home all day and our house looks like a tornado went through it on most days, I wouldn’t trade it for anything.  Thanks for visiting my page!
